Currently, I am taking on new clients and focusing on freelancing with social impact startups and nonprofits, particularly in the areas of sustainability and animal welfare. I look forward to hearing about what you’re looking to build.
Please say hello: hello@morgannorris.com
Hello
I’m Morgan Norris. I’m a designer with a data analysis background. At my core, I love figuring things out. While “multidisciplinary” gets thrown around a lot, for me, it simply means being willing to use whatever tools it takes to build something meaningful.
I’m happy to be involved however you need, from the concept of the idea, creative direction, product design, graphic design, conversion optimization, and even a WordPress build.
Experience
I’ve been designing products and marketing materials for over six years. The past four years in-house at Dechra Veterinary Pharmaceuticals and freelancing, specializing in web design strategy, marketing automation, and data analytics. Before this, I completed an MBA in Information Systems Management from Wayne State University. I am now a freelance designer and consultant, specializing in establishing or reimagining existing product designs and developing design systems. I care deeply about creating useful, results-driven, beautiful products that help people and make a difference.
Personal history
Since 2018, I’ve been based in Ridgewood, Queens, where I’ve hopefully found my forever home. I was lucky enough to grow up in Metro-Detroit, which I didn’t always love as a kid, but over time, the city’s vibrant and evolving art scene became a huge influence. It sparked my love for all kinds of creative work and played a big role in shaping my design career.
Outside of design, I’m also a stained glass artist, focusing mostly on lamps, mirrors, and window panels. I have more hobbies than I can count, because I genuinely love trying new things. Lately, that’s shown up as yoga, Just Dance on my Wii, camping trips upstate, and signing up for random experiences, like an ice sculpting competition on Governors Island.
What drives me
As I started thinking about what’s next, I couldn’t help but look back at what had been missing before. I started asking myself: What am I really doing here? I decided to dig deeper by reevaluating my skills, what truly excites me, and what my values are.
Be authentic
I’m most energized by work that feels honest and intentional. I aim to uplift others to tell stories in surprising, beautiful, or powerful ways.
Provide Value to others to help advance their mission
I love bringing people’s ideas to life. My goal is to bring clarity, creativity, and strategic thinking to help move the project forward.
Provide positive impact to the greater community
Design has the power to create real change, and I want to use it thoughtfully. I care deeply about building tools and experiences that genuinely have an impact.
Share what I know
Knowledge should be shared openly and generously. There’s real power in passing along skills, and we each have a responsibility to help others grow.
